This type of gasket uses the most simply geometrical shape. Thanks, their characteristics, like ease assembly, cheap price, the flat gasket has been a lot of applications. Moreover, in special industrial application flat gasket is the best solution. Flat gaskets are usually used for static applications, because of their flat and wide sealing surface, which allows to guarantee the sealing function, even by very small pressure condition through compression forces. 

Often flat gaskets have been used by dynamic applications too, for instance as shock-absorber, than the rebound is obtained through the material’s elasticity,
